What color is the sun? The light of the sun contains all colors; what if we depict the sun in a different color than the standard yellow? These sun images below were created using data captured by the GOES-19 weather satellite orbiting Earth. The image data from the satellite was received directly as radio transmissions by Here GOES Radiotelescope (Heidi Neilson & R. Dove). The greyscale images recorded by the satellite at different wavelengths were combined in RGB channels to create unique color images.
