Currents of Tremont, 2012. 1 min, 45 sec video.
Bronx River Arts Center’s neighborhood along Tremont Avenue in the Bronx, New York [view map], is interlaced by numerous traffic streams of different types: the elevated subway train, roadways and expressways, and the Bronx River. Using video and time-lapse photography, Currents of Tremont captures multiple views of the intersections of these rushing paths, where major arteries of the city cross the river’s flow.
This video was created for the Virtual/Monumental exhibition at the Bronx River Arts Center during the summer of 2012, and is one of seven site-specific projects which are accessed in the West Farms neighborhood using maps and QR codes and experienced on phones and other mobile devices.
